The Apple IIgs originally shipped without a hard drive. This was something new in personal computers at the time (1986) and the technology was not implemented in the original design of this computer. Very shortly after the release of the Apple IIgs, a couple of friends devised a hard drive which was built into the power supply. They were Applied Ingenuity and aside from making these 40 meg hard drives they created sound and memory cards as well. Later on Applied Engineering came out with their "clone" of the AI drive but Applied Ingenuity was there first. So What Software programs such as Call Box and Hyperlaunch were designed with hard drive operation in mind. This page presents a full 40 meg hard drive image with everything installed and configured just like the good old days. This is indeed a very large download but the wait is well worth it. Download...
